Ahmed Twumasi, the police inspector who reportedly shot his lover dead in Adum-Kumasi has opened up on why he shot her.

Victoria Dapaah, a 26-year-old lady who is also known as Maadwoa was allegedly shot dead by the inspector who was once her lover. According to reports, she was shot by Twumasi for allegedly cheating on him.

However, the suspect has cleared the air on what led to the shooting of Victoria Dapaah on that fateful day.

According to the police inspector, the deceased lover owed him an amount of GH¢5, 000. This information was contained in the prosecution document as read in the court opening on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

It was disclosed by the court that the defendant used a service pistol in the shooting of his deceased lover.

When asked by the judge if he has anything he would like to say, he noted, ‘’I have no intention to commit the crime, whatever happened is between me and God.’’

The suspect has been remanded into the custody of the police to reappear on Tuesday the 30th of May, 2023.
