Sophia Akuffo, the former Chief Justice has indicated that every government under the Fourth Republican constitution has failed the current generation woefully.
Sophia Akuffo has become the trend on social media after she joined the pensioners on February 10,2023 to picket at the ministry of finance against the government decision to include the pensioners in the DDEP.
Speaking in an interview on JoyNews monitored by 1Family Radio, the former Chief Justice hinted that her generation had a lot of aspirations as children after the military regime to change the country for the better but they have failed big time.
According to Sophia, her generation grew up with so much expectations and hope in them but they failed to transfer their hopes and aspirations to the younger generation.
“My generation has disappointed this current generation big time,” she lamented. She continued that it is not only the New Patriotic Party that has failed but every government after the military regime has failed this country.
She furthered she is disappointed in every government elected under the 1992 constitution. Sophia lamented that lamented that after the experiences they had with the military government and with the hopes they had in the constitution, this country should have been better than this.
Sophia mentioned that the principles and standards of the country has been corroded away by the government.
The former Chief Justice added that Ghana will forever be Ghana therefore, it is our duty as citizens to transform it for the better.
