Dr. Konadu Apraku, a leading member and an aspirant flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has stated that he would have sacked the finance minister if he was Akuffo-Addo.

Speaking in an interview on GTV monitored by 1Family Radio, Dr. Kofi disclosed that there are dissatisfied members of the party and parliamentarians who have expressed their displeasure with Ofori-Atta’s performance. Some of these people have demanded the dismissal of Ofori-Atta as the Finance Minister.

He furthered that if he was in the president’s shoe, he would have listened to their demands and dismiss Ofori-Atta. Dr. Kofi stated that these MPs demanded that Akuffo Addo should dismiss the finance minister or they won’t support any policy of the government in parliament.

The flagbearer aspirant has urged the president to consider the sentiments of these parliamentarians and the ordinary Ghanaians. “In politics, you have to examine the sentiment and opinions of the citizens,” he stressed. He continued that the president must consider the opinions of the public and act upon it if it is possible.

Mr. Kofi Konadu indicated that if the president ignores the opinions of the public, it will aggravate the mess the country is facing now. According to Mr. Kofi Konadu if he was the president, he would have sacked Ofori-Atta and replace him with a more competent person
